Our Story

On February 1, 2016, Apostle Donald Rawls, Senior Pastor pushed forward with God's Vision to start Christ The Living Word Church. In March 2016, the church started an online conference call bible study called Faith School. Then one Friday night in July 2016 as Pastor Rawls was praying to the Lord about a physical location for the church Pastor Rawls received a text from Lady Linda Allen regarding a fish fry being held at her church. The Lord told him as he read the text that this building was going to be the building for the church.
On September 3, 2016, Christ The Living Word Church held it's first service at that building, 16618 Clay Road, Suite 550, Houston, TX 77084. Pastor Rawls agreed with the Lord that he did not want this ministry unless it was a supernatural ministry filled with miracles, signs and wonders.
Every part has been just that... Supernatural!

We strongly believe that God still heals wonderfully, powerfully, and miraculously. Thus, we are a portal placed here by God to be a feeding trough for others to "Taste and see that the LORD is good..." (Psalm 34:8). We also allow the Gifts of the Spirit to minister mightily under the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ as well as the under the authority of the pastoral leadership.
What We Believe
We believe that Jesus Christ is both Savior & Lord & Supplies all our needs through HIS love.
We believe that God's Word is Inerrant True, Living, Powerful, and Is Our Instruction for Life.
We believe in the Holy Trinity: God, The Father, God the Son, God, The Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and that no person can get to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
We believe that all have sinned and have fallen short, thus we need a savior.
We believe that the wages of sin is eternal separation from God.
We believe that Jesus lived a sinless life.
We believe that Jesus died for all mankind as the perfect sacrifice.
We believe that Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to Heaven.
We believe that one must put their trust in Jesus for forgiveness of sin an to receive eternal life and the fullness of His salvation.
We believe that Jesus is coming back again to rule and reign.
We believe that the blood and the name of Jesus still has power!
We believe that the church has a strong divine purpose of releasing hope that must go forth by faith, love, unity, and victory in Jesus name!

APOSTLE DONALD RAWLS, SR.
Senior Pastor/Founder
Apostle Donald Rawls, Senior Pastor has celebrated his 9th year as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in June of 2021. Pastor Rawls received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management Information Systems from Louisiana Tech University in May 1992. After working in corporate America for several years he started his first business and has been an entrepreneur since 1996.
Pastor Rawls received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Texas Southern University in 2000. Throughout his business career Pastor Rawls was a leader within the Men’s Ministry at The Church Without Walls. He served in roles over leadership of the Men’s Prayer Team and a Teacher of several of the men’s classes. In 2012 Pastor Rawls excepted his call into the ministry and started the para-church ministry, Go Win Pray Inc. Go Win Pray Inc. mission is to bring healing and restoration to the body of Christ through the use and teaching of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Rawls has also served as Assistant Pastor at Grace Fellowship Church. He was ordained in 2015 under the leadership of Senior Pastor Karl J Minor. After serving Pastor Minor and Grace Fellowship Church for three years Pastor Rawls was urged by the Holy Spirit to Pastor a church, Christ the Living Word Church, which he started in September 2016. From September 2016 to September 2021 the ministry has seen hundreds of people saved and healed. Pastor Rawls is married to his lovely wife First Lady Taunya Rawls and have been happily married for 22 years. They have two sons, Donald Rawls II (19) and Tyler Rawls (14).
Apostle Donald Rawls, Senior Pastor started the Coronavirusprayersupport.org ministry after being healed by God of COVID19 in July 2020. A dynamic ministry leading the prayer call against COVID19.

FIRST LADY TAUNYA RAWLS

First Lady Taunya Rawls is the loving wife of Apostle Donald Rawls and the devoted mother of two amazing sons; Donald Rawls II and Tyler Rawls. With inward and outward beauty, she loves enhancing ladies beauty through make-up application education, as well as entrepreneurial beauty endeavors.
Her passion is loving people and serving others. As co-founder of Christ The Living Word Church, Taunya Rawls has dedicated her life to building the Kingdom of God through excellence in ministry. She is the outstanding leader of our Women's Ministry which meets monthly.

PASTOR SHEILA TAYLOR
Shelia accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at the tender age of nine years old. She began serving in God’s Kingdom following her confession of faith.
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston, Shelia began her professional career in Wholesale Marketing with Valero Oil Company where she was responsible for billing and implementing price changes for major oil companies.
However, after a profound change in her life, Shelia moved to California the day before 9/11/2001. She awoke in a new place with the opportunity for a new beginning. She left the corporate world and decided to be reconciled back to Jesus. In 2002, Shelia accepted her Call into Ministry and began serving at International Crossroads Community Church (ICCC) under the leadership of Pastor Reginald Grey as an Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She also served as an ICCC Administrator and leader of multiple ministries.
Shelia’s journey of spiritual training continued as she was led by The Holy Spirit to join Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship (FGBF) under the Leadership of Bishop Paul S. Morton in which she became a member of New Praise Nondenominational Church led by Pastor Joaquin Hobdy where she served as Regional Secretary and Missions President. After her studies at the School of Elders and service as Secretary in the Ministers Alliance Regional Mission, Shelia received her certifications from FGBF International and served as a Licensed and Ordained Elder, Celebrate Recovery Facilitator and Intercessory Prayer Team Captain for the Equipping the Saints Ministry.
Since Pastor Taylor has always had a burden for hurting people of all ages, The Holy Spirit has birthed new visions through her. One such vision manifested in her work as Manager of the Southeast Texas Dream Center in Orange, TX, which is a transitional home for women. Current visions that God has also entrusted to Pastor Taylor include "That Day", "W.H.Y." and "Places for Memories".
Currently, Pastor Taylor is a member of Christ The Living Word Church (CTLWC) in Houston, TX under the leadership of its Founder and Senior Pastor- Apostle Donald R. Rawls where she earned her ordination as Pastor Shelia Taylor in 2018. She serves in our nondenominational church in multiple capacities including:

- Hospital Healing Ministry Team Member
- Finance Committee Member
My desire is to live a life pleasing to God (Galatians 1:10) as Jesus and The Holy Spirit help me fulfill my Destiny...…. Pastor Taylor
